The Story
In Persian mythology, the Div (دیو) is a supernatural creature found in tales of heroes, trials and extraordinary encounters. Often depicted as formidable beings, Divs appear throughout Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh, where they challenge heroes such as Rostam. But the Div is more than a creature to be defeated. In Persian storytelling, it belongs to a world where appearances can deceive, opposites coexist, and the line between the familiar and the mysterious is never quite fixed. At Divan Amin, we draw inspiration from this rich mythological world, reimagining its characters through contemporary leathercraft. Meet the Baby Div: our own playful interpretation of this mythical creature, given a much smaller form.
